The term "responsible ownership" could be closely defined as: rights and obligations of the owner. This definition is making it way more clear since humans are very often considering responsible ownership only as obligations to their dog, and are neglecting or forgetting obligations to those around them, while they are in public space.

Anyone who adopts or buys a dog takes over responsibility for it, for it to be cleaned from all pests, vaccinated, and during their lives together, the owner is obliged to take care of its dog's health and provide it with veterinarian help when needed. A dog needs decent food, but, unfortunately, financial aids are very often constraining. However, you should keep in mind that food is important to dogs as it is important to us - they are living beings. And no less important need is – going for a walk.

But this is not all. When you go out for a walk with your dog, you are obliged to remove your dog's feces; but outside is where another obligation begins – responsibility for your dog's behaviour. You should always keep in mind that going for a walk is your right, but also the right of others as well. No one, with the dog, can be a sheriff who makes order. No one's dog can be a danger to other dogs or animals, and also to people and children. Owner's responsibility is to properly upbring its dog. Otherwise, you should be aware that its reactions can provoke both dogs and humans. They can be dangerous too, and that is why it is crucial to know the definition of a dangerous dog, and if the dog is that way, what to do in order for it to have enough walking while not being a threat to others. On the other hand, some dogs are more timid than others for different reasons. This should be respected as an etiquette between dog owners. And more... There are humans who are afraid of dogs. This should be respected too; especially since not a single fear nor phobia can be overcome by force.
