Also known as Tiny Wild Dogs or Colombian Dogs. They are also often refferd to as foxes or zorros as zorro in Spanish means fox, but they should not be confused with either wolves nor foxes. Their main feature is the jaw with 38 teeth, unlike 42 that most of the dogs have. As Dingos, they are considered as vaulnarable, endagered animal species.

Appearance

They are only 20–30 cm tall. Their legs are the shortest amongst canids. They weigh 5–10 kg and are 50–70 cm long. They visually resemble otters.

Lifestyle

They are superb swimmers and solitary hunters when small prey is in question. These tough canids will dive in the water and hunt for Capybaras, which is as the biggest rodent on the Earth – 130 cm long.

Food

The key prey are the aquatic rodents.

Habitat

They live in dense woodlands and shrubs of South America. They inhabit swampy regions or areas near the streams or rivers which are oppulent in wildlife.
